(AllHipHop News) Lil Nas X continues to make headlines.
The Atlanta rapper exploded onto the scene with his country rap single “Old Town Road,” which later got the ultimate remix from Billy Ray Cyrus.
In addition, he signed a new deal with Colombia Records and most recently unleashed his "Lil Nas X 7 EP," with a standout feature from Cardi B.
On June 30, which also marked the end of Pride month, Lil Nas X came forward with his sexuality.
He wrote on Twitter, “Some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not no more. But before this month ends I want y’all to listen closely to c7osure,” followed by a rainbow emoji.
On Friday, the 20-year-old went on BBC America to address the backlash after coming out.
During the interview, he revealed considering taking his sexuality “to the grave” and never publicly addressing it, but ultimately he didn’t want to live his live “not doing what I want to do.”
He also told the BBC that he feels he’s opening doors for more people so “they feel comfortable.”
When it comes to the backlash, he states, “I’m already getting it,” with a laugh.
He continued, “learning the internet over the last couple years, I used to be that person being negative. I’m not angry, because it’s like I understand how they just want that reaction. But I’m just gonna joke back with them.”
