How long will the neophyte remain relevant?

(AllHipHop News) No matter what happens in the future, Lil Nas X can always say he had a #1 single. "Old Town Road" leads the Hot 100 chart for a third week, but some critics wonder how long LNX's music career will actually last.

During an appearance on the Zach Sang Show, Lil Nas was asked about the dreaded "one hit wonder" tag. The 20-year-old newcomer insisted he will be around for some time.

"[Potentially being a one hit wonder] is literally told to me at every second at this point, and it's crazy. It's expected though 'cause the type of songs that I've made and then they'll go back to listen to my older songs. I expect that and I welcome that," said Lil Nas. "I know. It's not a doubt in my mind that I'm not going to be a one hit wonder. I know big things [are] coming. It's gonna be great."

Harlem emcee Dave East is likely one of the people that thinks Lil Nas X still has a lot to prove. He recently called "Old Town Road" wack. LNX responded by saying, "I have the #1 song in the country. I do not give a f*ck about what Dave East is saying.”
