Lil Nas X's '7' EP In Tight Race For No. 1 Spot On The Album Chart

The Rookie Of The Year contender seems to be proving he's not a one-hit-wonder.

(AllHipHop News) Will Lil Nas X have the #1 song and the #1 album in the country at the same time? "Old Town Road" has a good chance of spending a thirteenth week atop the Hot 100, and LNX's new 7 EP is competing for the pole position on the forthcoming Billboard 200.

According to HitsDailyDouble, 7 is projected to move between 70,000 - 80,000 first-week units. That puts Lil Nas X in a very tight race with The Raconteurs' Help Us Stranger (70,000 - 80,000 units).

The Raconteurs' total activity is based nearly entirely on traditional album sales. Lil Nas' EP is overwhelmingly benefiting from streams. Three songs from the project are currently in U.S. Spotify's Top 10 and Apple Music's Top 10.

7 hosts the original "Old Town Road" as well as the remix version featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. The Columbia Records release also contains the breakout tracks "Panini" and "Rodeo" with Cardi B.
