(AllHipHop News) Last week, Lil Nas X found himself on Billboard's Hot 100, Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs, and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously. The Atlanta native became the first recording artist to pull off that feat thanks to his single “Old Town Road."
Lil Nas X's track has peaked at #19 on the Hot Country Songs chart, #26 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, #24 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, #36 on the Streaming Songs chart, and #51 on the Hot 100 chart. “Old Town Road" is presently the #4 song on Spotify's Top 200 US daily chart, and it has also reached the pinnacle of Apple Music's Top 100: USA chart.
The Naserati project creator saw “Old Town Road" go viral as the #YeeHawChallenge spread via TikTok. A music video for the song, which was made with footage from the Red Dead Redemption video game, has collected over 12 million views on YouTube since being published on December 2, 2018.
Along with Lil Tracy and DaBaby, Lil Nas X is part of the emerging Country-Trap wave. LNX (born Montero Lamar Hill) signed to Columbia Records following a reported seven-figure label bidding war.
