The longtime Hot 97 personality called out several artists as "wack rappers" on Instagram. Yachty made Flex's unfavorable list along with G-Eazy, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Pump.
Lil Boat jumped in the DJ's IG comments to let him know, "Don't start with me Flex." Fast forward a few weeks and Flex brought Yachty to the studio to rap.
The Funk Flex freestyle series is regarded as a respected platform for emcees to display their lyrical skills. Wordsmiths such as Black Thought, Meek Mill, Royce da 5'9", Joey Bada$$, Loyd Banks, Young M.A, Mysonne, and Loaded Lux scorched the microphone during their respective appearances at Hot 97.
"This is the real deal. This is it," admitted Yachty on spitting bars in front of Flex. "I feel like n-ggas is going to hate regardless, so I'm here. F-ck it. N-ggas can't say I didn't do it."
