Lil Yachty Wants To Start A New Rap Group Like The Wu-Tang Clan

The "Who Want the Smoke?" rapper makes it clear he's not trying to "recreate" the Wu.

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta's Lil Yachty is ready for the upcoming Wu-Tang: An American Saga series on Hulu. While the How High 2 actor won't be joining Dave East and Joey Bada$$ for the program's cast, Lil Boat was still inspired by the legendary Hip Hop collective.

"I wanna start a new rap group yung n*gga wu tang swag bout 8 yung fly n*ggaz," tweeted Yachty. He later returned to Twitter to add, "Noooooo I said something LIKE wutang not recreate wutang 🤦🏿‍♂️."

The 21-year-old rhymer likely felt the need to clarify his statement because he got blasted by 90s Hip Hop heads in 2016 for saying The Notorious B.I.G. was "overrated." He later walked back those controversial comments about the rap icon.
