LL Cool J Reportedly To Team With Ice Cube In Bid To Buy Sports TV Stations

The two rap icons are trying to invest in the channel that broadcasts NY Yankees games.

(AllHipHop News) Recently, news broke that Ice Cube is attempting to purchase 22 regional sports channels from The Walt Disney Company. According to TMZ, fellow Hip Hop legend LL Cool J is looking to join the potential team of investors.

The sale is expected to cost $15 to $25 billion. Fox Sports San Diego, Fox Sports Arizona, Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Southwest, and the New York-based YES Network are part of the list of stations.

Cube and LL are reportedly partnering with billionaire Carolyn Rafaelian to make the bid. Other sports figures and celebrities could also join the investment group.

This would not be Ice Cube's first entry into television. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer created the Big 3 basketball league which airs on FOX and FS1. He also produced TV programs like BarberShop: The Series and Are We There Yet?

LL Cool J's history in television includes starring in shows such as In the House and NCIS: Los Angeles. In addition, the Kennedy Center Honors recipient has served as the host for the Grammy Awards as well as Lip Sync Battle.
