(AllHipHop News) As an artist, Logic is a cultural phenomenon, perfectly capturing the zeitgeist of being young in America.
His breakout single “1-800-273-8255,” titled after the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, went 5x platinum and engages in a conversation about mental health in an expertly fresh way.
A recent feature in traces his meteoric rise from scrappy self-produced independent rapper to one of 21 artists in Billboard history to place at least 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
With the publication of "Supermarket, under his given name, Bobby Hall, flexes his tirelessly creative muscles in a brand-new way, although with the same careful attention to the issues at stake for young adults today, with mental health being at the forefront.
A soundtrack album of the same name will be released concurrently with the book.
"Creating an entire world from cover to cover for my fans to explore is a dream come true," Logic said. "I’ve created something that after the first read, you can go back and read it again and it’s a completely different book. I’m so beyond excited you have no idea."
In "Supermarket" the main character, Flynn is stuck—depressed, recently dumped, and living at his mom’s house.
The supermarket was supposed to change all that. An ordinary job, routine hours, a steady check. Work isn’t work when it’s saving you from yourself.
But things aren’t quite as they seem in these aisles.
Arriving to work one day to a crime scene, Flynn’s world begins to crumble as the secrets of his tortured mind are revealed. But Flynn doesn’t want to go looking for answers at the supermarket, because something there seems to be looking for him.
A darkly funny psychological thriller, Supermarket is a gripping exploration into madness and creativity.
"Supermarket" will be released on March 26, 2019.
