(AllHipHop News) "Love & Hip Hop" star Yandy Smith is adding book author to her impressive resume.
Yandy, who cut her teeth at the legendary Violator Management, is also known for her feisty appearances on the hit series "Love & Hip Hop."
Now, Yandy is teaming up with author Wahida Clark, to launch a new series of books.
The new book series, titled "The Pink Panther Clique," was co-authored with Clark, along with Jamilla T. Davis, Aisha Hall, and Sunshine Smith-Williams.
According to the book's description, the work of fiction centers around the "author’s real-life experiences.:
"The Pink Panther Clique follows Eshe, Milla, and Sun-Sole, three boss chicks who meet under the worst circumstances possible--behind bars. Prison isn't at all what they expected, and from the moment they step onto the prison yard, they find themselves surrounded by disloyal snitches, set-ups, and scandalous drama."
Yandy is excited about the new phase of her career.
“This novel and movement is personally close to me because of my current situation,” said Yandy Smith. “Women are the nucleus of the family. When a mother is away from the household, families tend to fall apart. This is an important issue and I am happy to lead the conversation!”
According to co-author Wahida Clark, "The Pink Panther Clique" shines "a much-needed spotlight on incarcerated women."
"All four of us are dedicated to the work of providing support for women transitioning from prison to society, community, family and motherhood," Wahida Clark explained. "With these novels, we can expand our reach and touch more lives.”
Yandy's new book series with Wahida Clark is in stores today (October 3).
