Mac Miller's Foundation Donates $50,000 To Artists Struggling With Addiction

The late rapper's foundation is keeping his memory alive and helping out artists in need.

(AllHipHop News) The life of late rap star Mac Miller will be celebrated through a new partnership with the RIAA's MusiCares charity foundation.

The rapper's family created a charity organization called The Mac Miller Fund, after the Pittsburgh rap star died from a drug overdose at the age of 26, on September 7, 2018.

Mac's foundation donated $50,000 to a new program called the MusiCares Mac Miller Legacy Fund, which will help musicians and artists aged 27 and under, who may be struggling with substance abuse.

“We're grateful to partner with and support people doing the work. It's a way for us to celebrate and carry on Malcolm's nature — providing opportunities for young people to realize their talents and potential while supporting community," MusiCares said in a statement. "It’s critical to us to help provide a safety net for artists who are struggling with substance abuse.”

Last night, the program celebrated Macklemore, who has been very open about his battles with substance abuse.
