Male Rappers Hold The Top Two Spots On The Hot 100 For The First Time In Six Years

(AllHipHop News) The singles chart from the summer of 2014 was dominated by female rapper Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," but 2015 could be the year of the male rapper controlling Billboard.

With Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" holding on to the top spot on the Hot 100 for the fourth consecutive week and Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" rising up to number two this week, the two rappers managed to accomplish something that has not been done since 2009.

This is the first time in six years two male rap stars have respective songs in the top two spots on the Hot 100. It was back in March of '09 when Flo Rida sat at the pinnacle of the chart with "Right Round," and T.I. was right behind him at #2 with "Dead and Gone" featuring Justin Timberlake.

Wiz and Fetty are leading the tally of the best performing singles in the country, but another rising rapper is also making waves on the Hot 100. T-Wayne's "Nasty Freestyle" sits at number 9 on the chart.

Other notable placements include Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!" featuring Bruno Mars (#3), The Weeknd's "Earned It" (#4), Jason Derulo's "Want To Want Me" (#8), and Omarion's "Post To Be" featuring Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko (#13).
