(AllHipHop News) It seems like The Bronx is the top breeding ground for female rappers at the moment. Cardi B and Remy Ma have become household names, and there's yet another BX rapstress that's on the come up.
Maliibu Miitch sat down with DJ Smallz for an interview. The conversation included the Atlantic recording artist discussing Hip Hop being dominated by men.
"This might be biased because I'm a female, but I feel like we're just smarter than these guys. How are we not running this industry?" asked Miitch. "A lot of the things that happened, I be like, 'If a woman was behind that, it would've never happened.'"
When asked what advice she would give to other women wanting to get into the music business, the "Give Her Some Money" MC responded, "Hold your ground and have patience. No matter how many times the door closes in your face, it's alright to get back up and not beat yourself up too much about it. I got mad doors closed in my face so many times over the years. Just pick yourself up and keep going."
Miitch helped build her following through music promoting female empowerment. Her 2017 breakout mixtape, Top 5, paid homage to Lil Kim, Lauryn Hill, Eve, Foxy Brown, and Missy Elliott.
The South Bronx native also received support from today's women in Hip Hop. Maliibu got a shout out from NYC rap royalty Nicki Minaj, and she is heading on the road with the DMV's Rico Nasty.
