Man Fired Over Missy Elliot Concert Debacle

The manager of the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota

was fired from his position after he advanced $90,000 to a promoter for a Missy

Elliot concert that never happened.

Fargo officials said that Paul Johnson, who managed

the Fargodome for over nine years, felt pressure to book big name acts at the

dome and used $90,000 of taxpayers money to secure Elliot.

The show was canceled due to poor ticket sales

and Fargodome Authority members said the deal violated their rules, because

their was no written contract to obtain a refund if the concert was canceled.

Fargodome's parent company, Philadelphia based

Global Spectrum, said that they would repay the city $75,000 and $15,000 in

advertisements for the concert.

The promoter of the event, Henry Mitchell, has

not been found.
