Marvel's ‘Luke Cage' To Feature Ghostface Killah, Rakim, Faith Evans & More
(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop fans and Marvel fans are in for a treat.
Now, the all-star lineup of artists to appear on the upcoming season of Marvel’s Luke Cage has been revealed.
Season two will feature cameos from includes KRS-One, Ghostface Killah, Rakim, Faith Evans, Stephen Marley, Jadakiss, Joi & D-Nice, Gary Clark Jr., Esperanza Spalding, and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram.
Speaking to Billboard, the creator and showrunner of the show, Cheo Hodari Coker, states, “When you say, ‘We're going to shoot you like no one else has shot you on a show,' and you can show long tracking shots of Raphael Saadiq or you can show the intercut footage of Sharon Jones, they were like, ‘We have to do the show.’”
Luke Cage made its debut in September of 2016, showcasing the adventures of a superhero in the streets of Harlem.
Now, using his two years of music journalist to his advantage, Coker recruits only the elites of hip-hop.
These cameos will not be your traditional pop-ups.
The new season is slated to premiere on June 22, exclusively on Netflix.
