(AllHipHop News) The Notorious B.I.G's classic debut album Ready To Die is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month. One of Biggie's hottest singles at the time was "One More Chance (Remix)" which featured vocals by Mary J. Blige. The Queen of Hip Hop Soul spoke with Revolt about the chart topping rap song.
"'One More Chance' the remix came about through Puffy [Combs] just saying, 'I need you to come down here and get on this Big song,'" recalls Blige. "[I said, 'Whatever.' We were all family. He if called... I'm coming down."
Blige also reflected on Ready To Die as a complete album. According to the Grammy-winning singer, she knew the project was something special from the very beginning.
"When I first heard Ready to Die, I was like, ‘This kid Biggie, he’s special’,” said Mary. “Because he was saying how a lot of us were feeling at the time. A lot of us were feeling like, ‘I don’t know if I want to live through all of this.’ He was speaking to us, but he was also helping us to see that we probably shouldn’t be ready to die.”
