Mary J. Blige Says Working With 50 Cent Is The Highlight Of Her Year

The legendary rapper tapped the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul for his hit series "Power."

(AllHipHop News)* Mary J. Blige will front the cast of a spin-off of rapper 50 Cent's hit show "Power," after the series comes to an explosive end next year.

Executive producers Courtney Kemp and 50, real name Curtis James Jackson III, made the big announcement at a Television Critics Association panel for the Starz series on Friday.

"We are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of Power," Kemp said, announcing "Power Book II: Ghost," as Blige took a set next to him.

"This is probably going to be the most exiting thing that will happen to me this year," Mary J. Blige said. "I’m a huge fan for life, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it."

But first comes "Power's" 15-episode sixth and final season, which is set to debut on August 25.

Kemp called the new series "the biggest swing of my writing life."
