(AllHipHop News) It's been a big week for Mary J. Blige. The undisputed Queen Of Hip Hop Soul was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 BET Awards on Sunday.
Then news broke that MJB's Blue Butterfly production company inked an exclusive first-look television deal with Lionsgate. According to Deadline, the 9-time Grammy winner will develop and produce series for the studio.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Lionsgate,” stated Blige. “They are incredible collaborators and have been natural partners from when we first started talking. I can’t wait to bring all of our projects to life."
Throughout her career, Mary J. Blige appeared in TV programs such as The Jamie Foxx Show, Entourage, and Black-ish. She currently has a starring role in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy. The 48-year-old entertainment legend earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her acting role in Mudbound.
