(AllHipHop News) In August, Raheem Howard was accused of shooting at Baton Rouge cop Yuseff Hamadeh. The 21-year-old man was charged with the attempted murder of a police officer and illegal use of a weapon.
However, a month later, a BRPD investigation determined Hamadeh violated department policy by not having his body camera turned on at the time of the interaction. East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore eventually dropped the charges against Howard citing a lack of evidence because Hamadeh's gun was the only weapon that was fired during the incident.
Back in 2007, Robert "Meek Mill" Williams was put in jail for allegedly attacking a policeman. It was later revealed the arresting officer, Reginald Graham, was on the Philadelphia District Attorney Office's secret list of cops that reportedly had a history of lying, racial bias, brutality, or abuse of power.
As part of his effort to bring awareness to criminal justice reform, Meek performed at the TIDAL X Brooklyn charity concert on October 23, and the Dreamchasers leader took time to meet with Raheem Howard backstage. Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin was also part of the discussion (watch the video at the top of the article).
“I applaud the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s office for swiftly dismissing cases involving officer Yuseff Hamadeh’s testimony," states Williams' attorney Joe Tacopina. "His unethical treatment of Raheem Howard was repulsive and is eerily similar to officer Reginald Graham’s conduct involving Meek and several others that were wrongfully-arrested in Philadelphia."
Joe Tacopina adds, "I hope the entire Philadelphia criminal justice system follows the lead of their counterparts in East Baton Rouge Parish and takes immediate, corrective action to dismiss cases centered around Graham’s dishonest testimony.”
