Meek Mill Talks Unveiling A Renovated Basketball Court In Philadelphia [VIDEO]

PUMA and Roc Nation helped the rapper give back to his community.

(AllHipHop News) On August 17, Robert "Meek Mill" Williams hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the unveiling of a renovated basketball court near the Philadelphia native's old neighborhood. The plan to remodel Strawberry Mansion Legacy Courts was first put in motion back in October of 2018.

Meek teamed with PUMA Basketball, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Mural Arts Philadelphia, and Strawberry Mansion Community Development Corporation for the “Legacy Courts Block Party." The Championships album creator spoke to the crowd of fans, community leaders, and children at East Fairmount Park.

"I appreciate the people. We're coming back. We've been putting [up] basketball courts, me and PUMA," said Meek. "I'd like to say thank you to PUMA and Roc Nation for upgrading the courts and doing everything we can do to contribute to the community." The 32-year-old music artist added, "Let's play ball, have some fun... Shout out to y'all. Thank y'all for having me."

The redesign of the Strawberry Mansion Legacy Courts is the latest collaboration between Meek Mill and PUMA. The rapper and the German clothing brand also worked together to create the Clyde Court #REFORM sneakers. The footwear was inspired by the REFORM Alliance, an organization started by Meek, Jay-Z, and others in order to improve the criminal justice system in the United States.
