(AllHipHop News) There were some complaints that Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson was the only person to acknowledge 21 Savage and his pending deportation situation during the 2019 Grammy Awards. On the next night, Metro Boomin made his support for the incarcerated entertainer very clear.
Metro and Atlanta rapper Gunna stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the Not All Heroes Wear Capes track "Space Cadet" on the late-night program. The super-producer wore a coat with the words "FREE 21 SAVAGE" written on the back.
21 Savage (born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on February 3 for allegedly overstaying a visa. Several Hip Hop figures - such as Jay-Z, Cardi B, Offset, and Vince Staples - have publicly backed the 26-year-old British national. There's an online petition calling on ICE not to deport Abraham-Joseph.
Metro and Savage have been close collaborators for years. They teamed up for 21's breakout Savage Mode project. The two southerners also partnered with Migos member Offset for Without Warning. Plus, 21 is featured on two Not All Heroes Wear Capes songs.
