The star of 'Just Mercy' is supposedly interested in the story of Kal-El.

(AllHipHop News) Michael B. Jordan played Marvel's Human Torch in Fantastic Four and Marvel's Killmonger in Black Panther. Is the veteran actor ready to try his hand at a DC character on the big screen?

According to Variety, Jordan met with executives at Warner Bros. Entertainment to pitch a new "vision" for Superman. The publication reported that the 32-year-old entertainer did not commit to the superhero movie because filming is not set to begin for several years which could conflict with his other projects.

Christopher Reeve established himself as the quintessential film version of Clark Kent in the Superman franchise from the 1970s/1980s. Brandon Routh played The Last Son of Krypton in 2006's Superman Returns, and Henry Cavill took on the role in 2013's Man of Steel.

Michael B. Jordan's next part comes in the upcoming legal drama Just Mercy via Warner Bros. Pictures. The based-on-a-true-story motion picture also stars Jamie Foxx, Rob Morgan, Tim Blake Nelson, Rafe Spall, and Brie Larson. Just Mercy lands in North American theaters on December 25.

We don't need a black "Clark Kent" just like we don't need a white "T'Challa". Superman is theirs. No need to bogart that piece of culture just to check a box.

What we DO need is a solid portrayal of John Stewart (a black Green Lantern), Wally West (black Flash) or even Martian Manhunter (shape-shifter). Hell, Cyborg needs to be redone—the one from Justice League WAS NOT it.

Other black DC superheroes that could carry a movie: Steel Batwing Static

Better yet, create a whole new character for us to own as ours.

@illseed this article is a reach and it needs to be redone. There's no substance. The title says he's working on a "new vision" for Superman. Then when you open it the article says that he's done some marvel movies and just repeats the title. What type of half ass shit is this? Michael B Jordan has been rumored to do this movie for the last 2 years. This is not new information. Is this another slow news day? Just randomly pulling something out of the air for no reason. Thats like me saying "Ja Rule was in Murder Inc" you click on the article and when it opens it just has the title and Ja Rule's face next to it. WTF illseed???
