(AllHipHop News) Unbanned: The Legend of AJ1 presents the story of how the iconic Air Jordan 1 became a global phenomenon. Director Dexton Deboree was able to conduct interviews with several stars of sports and entertainment.

In the documentary, basketball legend Michael Jordan reflects on the cultural impact of his signature sneaker. Spike Lee, the star of the famed "It's Gotta Be The Shoes" Nike ad campaign, addresses how race played a role in the early concerns about the AJ1s.

Plus*, Unbanned* features Nike co-founder Phil Knight. Other NBA stars Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook are also in the film. The connection between Jordans and Hip Hop is undeniable, so it comes as no surprise DJ Khaled, Chuck D, Kid Ink, and Gizzle appear on the screen as well.
