Missy, Timbaland Accused Of Jerking Songwriter Out Of Aaliyah Royaltiies

Missy and Timbland are accused of re-creating a song to get out of paying royalties to a producer.

(AllHipHop News) Longtime rap collaborators Missy Elliott and Timbaland have been hit with a lawsuit over profits from an Aaliyah song.

Terry Williams claims he co-wrote and produced a track titled "Heartbroken" with Missy Elliott in the 1990's.

Williams alleges Missy subsequently sold the tune without his permission to the late singer.

Timbaland also produced the song, but Williams alleges he never received any compensation for his work on the song.

Terry Williams allegedly agreed to a deal over profits from the track, but Missy and Timbaland released a version that sounded similar to his without paying him.

Williams is suing Elliott, Timbaland, and Aaliyah's estate bosses for profits made.
