MTV Adds Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, H.E.R. & Normani As Performers For The 2019 VMAs

(AllHipHop News) Several Hip Hop and R&B acts will rock the crowd at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on August 26. Lil Nas X and Lizzo were already announced as performers, but more artists were added to the line-up.

Detroit's Big Sean and New York City's A$AP Ferg were tapped for the television event too. Sean recently released his "Single Again" record. Ferg let loose the 9-track Floor Seats project on August 16. "Hot Girl Summer" rapper Megan Thee Stallion will be hitting the pre-show stage.

On the R&B side, MTV enlisted Grammy-winning vocalist/instrumentalist H.E.R. as well as internet-breaking singer/dancer Normani. Plus, 2019 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient Missy Elliott is taking part in her own tribute performance.

Pop stars Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift lead this year's nominations with 12 each. "Old Town Road" hitmaker Lil Nas X picked up 8 nods. The Video Of The Year category includes "Old Town Road" featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, Ariana Grande's "thank u, next," Taylor Swift's "You Need to Calm Down," Billie Eilish's "bad guy," Jonas Brothers' "Sucker," and 21 Savage's "a lot" featuring J. Cole.
