Mystikal Bails Out On Rape Charge; Lawyer Says Its Possible He Could Beat Charge
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Mystikal has used a record label advance to get out of jail.
The rapper, real name Michael Tyler, has spent 18 months behind bars on rape charges, but he's now out on bail, according to his attorneys.
The rapper recently walked free from a Louisiana prison after paying $3 million bail.
The cash reportedly came from an advance for a new recording deal.
Mystikal's attorney, Tim Yazbeck issued a statement saying: "It's been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again."
The rapper is now free pending his trial in May and his lawyer Joel Pearce is confident he'll avoid a return to jail.
"Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn't commit," he explains.
