Mystikal Seeks Alleged Rape Victim's Mental & Health Records To Prepare Defense
(AllHipHop News) Rap star Mystikal was back in court today for a hearing over a first-degree rape charge.
Mystikal had spent the last 18 months incarcerated after a woman accused him of raping her back in October of 2016.
The woman claims Mystikal and an associate named Averweone Darnell Holman forced her to have sex after a concert in a Louisiana casino.
According to reports, Mystikal has petitioned the court to obtain the alleged victim's health and mental records, which could be a clue to a defense he may offer up.
As previously reported, Mystikal was recently freed from prison on $3 million bail.
He has pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree rape and another charge of second-degree kidnapping and says he plans to reject any plea deal in the case.
Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, was released from prison in 2012 after he accepted a plea deal in a separate rape case in 2004.
Averweone Darnell Holman was hit with the same charges as Mystikal, while Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, is accused of attempting to persuade the victim not to testify against Mystikal.
