(AllHipHop News) Incarcerated rapper Mystikal has reportedly signed a new record deal which will enable him to post the $3 million bail in his rape and kidnapping case.
Mystikal, real name Michael Tyler, is set to stand trial in May, relating to an alleged sex assault in a Louisiana casino in October 2016.
The rapper, who has been held in custody since turning himself into police in August 2017, has landed a new label contract to release three albums of previously-unheard material, and he's hoping to receive an advance in the coming days.
Mystikal has pleaded not guilty to counts of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.
His attorney said Mystikal's friends and family have also been busy raising funds for Mystikal's bail, and with the album advance, he is expected to be able to post the full sum by the end of the week.
This is not the first time Mystikal has faced rape allegations.
In January of 2004, he pleaded guilty to raping and videotaping his former hairstylist.
He was sentenced to six years in prison and was released on January 14, 2010, after serving the full term.
