(AllHipHop News) Nasir "Nas" Jones continues to expand his financial portfolio. The rap icon founded Mass Appeal Records in 2014, and now the label's parent company is partnering with LiveXLive Media and its Slacker Radio music streaming service.
Billboard reports Jones, Mass Appeal, and LiveXLive are joining forces to create, produce, and distribute “original urban-focused content." In addition, the rap mogul will serve as a LiveXLive brand ambassador, and he will curate a Slacker Radio station.
“I’m excited for Mass Appeal to continue expanding into different areas of media and music consumption in 2019. Our partnership with LivexLive is the next step in that evolution," stated Nas. "We want to show the power live performances can have in connecting with fans, and this collaboration will bring them experiences in real time."
Mass Appeal Records has released music projects by Nas, Run The Jewels, J Dilla, Pimp C, Dave East, and Black Milk. The label recently presented the Starting 5: Vol. 1 compilation featuring Fashawn, Keyon Harrold, Stro, Ezri, Cantrell, and 070 Phi.
Nasir Jones' other businesses include the venture capital firm Queensbridge Venture Partners. With $35 million in pretax annual income, the Hip Hop mogul landed at #7 on Forbes magazine's 2018 list of "The World's Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Acts".
