(AllHipHop News) One of the biggest stories to emerge from the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals was the reaction to Drake's enthusiastic actions inside the Scotiabank Arena. The Toronto Raptors are hosting Game 1 of the NBA Finals tonight (May 30), but Drizzy may have to tame down his sideline antics.
According to ESPN, league officials spoke to the Raptors about Drake's behavior during the ECF. This is reportedly the second time in two seasons the NBA had to address the rapper's courtside actions. Last year, the Raptors global ambassador was involved in a verbal confrontation with then-Cleveland Cavaliers player Kendrick Perkins during round 2 of the playoffs.
The Raptors franchise will play in its first NBA Finals against the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors. While Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer publicly took issue with Aubrey Graham's shenanigans during the Eastern Conference Finals, the Golden State team is taking a different approach to dealing with Drake.
"I kind of think it's fun and the NBA kind of embraces the pop culture dynamic of the league and the stars and the celebrities who are out there," said Warriors coach Steve Kerr on Monday. "And we got E-40 ready for them too, so we're in good shape."
Warriors superstar Steph Curry was quoted saying, "I know it's a tricky situation with [Drake] being right there on the court, but at the end of the day, he's having fun. You can't hate on nobody having fun. Well, I guess in this life everybody hates on people having fun. So it's par for the course on that one."
