30th American Music Awards yesterday in Beverly Hills. Universal's Nelly and

Eminem both led with four nominations each.

Nelly's Nellyville and Em's The Eminem

Show were both nominated for favorite male artist and album in the Pop/Rock

category and the hip-hop/R&B category.

The American Music Award winners are determined

by survey of an estimated 20,000 people conducted by the National Family Opinion.

Such factors as race, age, gender and region are taken into consideration.

The AMA's will take place at the Shrine Auditorium

in Los Angeles on January 13, 2003 and will be televised live on ABC.
