Netflix Cancels Spike Lee's 'She’s Gotta Have It' Series

The acclaimed filmmaker is still working with the streamer on a new motion picture with Chadwick Boseman.

(AllHipHop News) She’s Gotta Have It is the latest Netflix program to be canceled by the video streaming company. According to Variety, series creator Spike Lee is considering shopping the small screen adaptation of his 1986 film to other outlets.

The television version of She’s Gotta Have It ran on Netflix for two seasons. The cast of the comedy-drama includes DeWanda Wise, Anthony Ramos, Lyriq Bent, Cleo Anthony, Margot Bingham, De'Adre Aziza, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Fat Joe.

"Spike Lee is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time and we’re thrilled he brought the series She’s Gotta Have It to Netflix,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer. “While this is our last season, we’re very proud that it will be on our service for years to come, and excited to be working with Spike on his upcoming Netflix film Da 5 Bloods."

Netflix subscribers can still be on the lookout for Lee's Da 5 Bloods. The Oscar-winning screenwriter directed the upcoming Vietnam War centered movie starring Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Giancarlo Esposito, Norm Lewis, Mélanie Thierry, and Chadwick Boseman.
