New Owners Of Death Row Records Already Facing Lawsuit

Entertainment One just sold Death Row Records to Hasbro and now the label is being sued for using a picture of the logo.

(AllHipHop News) Hasbro was just announced as the new owners of Death Row Records and they are already facing a lawsuit for using a logo they now own.

A photographer named Elijah Payan filed a lawsuit against Entertainment One over the use of a photo on the company’s Instagram page.

The picture in question features a woman at a mixing board, rocking a Death Row Records 1991 jacket.

The problem is, Entertainment One never received the rights to use the flick, which is being used to hawk a variety of merchandise, including the jacket in the picture.

Interestingly, another person is credited on the post for taking the picture, although Elijah Payan claims to have a copyright for the photo.

Elijah Payan is seeking damages of up to $150,000 in addition to an accounting of all profits income receipts and other benefits derived from posting the picture.
