Nick Cannon's Directorial Debut "School Dance" Picked Up By Lionsgate Entertainment

(AllHipHop News) Nick Cannon has signed a deal with Lionsgate Entertainment that will have the actor, rapper, and entrepreneur directing his first feature film, "School Dance."

"School Dance," which was co-written by Cannon and Nile Evans, is set to begin production this June.

The movie centers around "a high school freshman who wants to be part of the most popular dance clique in his school -- but he tends to freeze in the spotlight and has no clue how he's going to pass the initiation," according to Variety.

Cannon, who will be directing and producing through his NCredible Entertainment company, has directed TV shows in the past, for Nickelodeon.

Also starring in "School Dance" are The New Boyz and The Rangers, both acts sign to Cannon's NCredible imprint.

"School Dance" is scheduled to begin production this June.
