Nicki Minaj Scores Big Legal Victory Over Botched NBA All-Star Weekend Show

The Queen just won in court according to legal docs.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nicki Minaj has again dodged a lawsuit over a 2011 appearance during the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Weekend.

Promoters at Cahuenga, Inc. claimed Nicki breached the terms of an agreement requiring her to host an event at Hollywood's Siren Studios eight years ago, after allegedly arriving 90 minutes late to the bash and staying for less than 30 minutes, instead of the full hour the contract reportedly stipulated.

Nicki Minaj had been paid $53,000 for the personal appearance, and Cahuenga officials decided to sue the hip-hop star after arguing her tardiness had caused them to lose profits.

However, their first lawsuit was dismissed in 2014 after failing to officially serve Minaj with the legal notice, and they made little progress through the court system again in 2017, when the promoters attempted to sue for a second time.

Last year, they resorted to handing off the documents to Nicki Minaj's mother, Carol, at her New York home, asking the judge overseeing the case to recognize that as their attempt to serve the rapper.

Their motion was denied in December, and now they have run out of time as the judge has shut down the suit, officially closing the case.
