Nicki Minaj Throws More Shots At Remy Ma On “Nobody” & “I Can’t Even Lie”
(AllHipHop News) With nearly seven minutes of lyrical heat, Remy Ma fired straight at Nicki Minaj on the diss track “Shether.”
As a result, Minaj has spent a lot of 2017 responding to her rival.
The Young Money rapstress first answered back with the “No Frauds” single featuring Drake and Lil Wayne.
Nicki has now used two more guest features to take aim at Remy.
DJ Khaled recruited the Queens native for “Nobody” with Alicia Keys and “I Can’t Even Lie” with Future for the Grateful album.
On “Nobody,” Minaj raps:
You know the liar will accuse you. You know the queen still reign, it’s just business as usual. Anything I touch, I bless it. Track record so impressive. Open the Billboard Awards with a hit record. The devil thought he had me. But I rebuked him, got money and I’m still a baddie.
The 2017 Billboard Awards featured Nicki performing “No Frauds” which debuted on the Hot 100 chart at #14 before dropping 70 spots in its second week.
“No Frauds” was also met with a lukewarm reaction on social media.
On “I Can’t Even Lie,” Nicki says:
Keep your man off my Instagram, b-tch. Ninety-nine problems but ain’t one of them b-tch.
The line is referring to reports that Remy Ma’s husband Papoose liked a comment under one of Minaj’s Instagram photos.
Back in May, Remy declared her beef with Nicki was over, but the Bronx emcee continued to throw fuel on the fire.
“Some people don’t get that the dust has settled, but I can understand. It’s kind of hard to see the dust is settling when you’re in the grave under the dirt,” Remy stated while on The Real.
She later addressed lines from “No Frauds” on The Cruz Show, “I’m still waiting for before-and-after [plastic surgery] pictures. I’m patiently waiting.”
Earlier this month, Remy performed “Shether” at Hot 97’s Summer Jam with memes of Nicki Minaj displayed on a screen.
Remy Ma’s set also featured her bringing out Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Rah Digga, The Lady Of Rage, Monie Love, Young M.A, and Cardi B.
The “Lean Back” rhymer referred to the move as a sign of unity among women in Hip Hop, but some observers took the action as another subliminal dig at Nicki.
“Being a queen is not just [saying,] ‘I sold the most records’ or ‘I have the most followers on Instagram.’ It’s about embracing other queens that came before you, embracing the ones there with you now, and embracing the ones that are coming after you,” said Remy backstage at the concert.
Headlines out of Hot 107.9’s recent Birthday Bash in Atlanta were about Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma once again blasting each other.
