Nigeria Officially Declared Ebola Free
Though much of West Africa continues to struggle against the deadly Ebola outbreak that has ravished the region and infected over 9,000 people, light appeared at the end of the tunnel as Nigerian officials have officially declared it to be Ebola free after the country has now gone over 42 days with no new infections.
Rui Gama Vaz, who serves as Nigeria's World Health Organization Director declared it a "spectacular success story," in a nation that has a population of over 160 million people.
Said Vaz, "The outbreak in Nigeria has been contained, but we must be clear that we only won a battle. The war will only end when West Africa is also declared free of Ebola."
