Nipsey Hussle Addresses Cardi B Winning The 2019 Grammy Award For Best Rap Album

Neighborhood Nip stopped by the 'Big Boy's Neighborhood' radio show.

(AllHipHop News) Nipsey Hussle's Victory Lap and Cardi B's Invasion Of Privacy were among the five Grammy nominees for Best Rap Album this year. IOP took home the award.

During a recent interview on Big Boy's Neighborhood, Nipsey was asked about Cardi winning the Grammy. The Los Angeles-based emcee chose not to bash his fellow Atlantic Records artist.

"You can't be upset. You can't be [like,] 'Oh, I got cheated.' Nah, that was clearly her time because the way the outcome happened," stated Nip. "Even before the Grammy was announced, Cardi had a great year, she had a big year."

He continued, "I seen certain people, even on my timeline, [saying,] 'Man, you got cheated.' Nah, we ain't doing that. That ain't the convo. That was her time. She got what she deserved."

Cardi B received some backlash for being awarded Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. Ariana Grande tweeted "bullsh*t" and "trash" after Chloe X Halle revealed the winner for the category, but the Pop singer later claimed the comments had "nothing to do with" Cardi.
