Nipsey Hussle's 'Victory Lap' Climbs To No. 2 On Album Chart Following His Death

Four other projects break onto the Billboard 200 chart too.

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop is still mourning Nipsey Hussle after the West Coaster was murdered on March 31. Many of his fans celebrated Nip's life by streaming and buying the rapper's music.

Victory Lap, Hussle's debut studio album, saw a 2,244% increase in sales the week after his death. The Atlantic Records LP earned 66,000 equivalent album units over that period.

Originally, Victory Lap debuted at #4 with 53,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release in 2018. It also opened at #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

In addition, four other Nipsey Hussle projects entered the Billboard 200. Crenshaw (#63), Slauson Boy 2 (#109), The Marathon (#179), and Mailbox Money (#192) broke onto the chart for the first time this week as well.
