Normani Pays Homage To '106 & Park' Show, Beyoncé & More In "Motivation" Video

Watch the reference-filled MV from the southern singer/dancer.

(AllHipHop News) Former Fifth Harmony member Normani Hamilton released her new solo single "Motivation" on Friday. The record was also accompanied by a music video directed by Dave Meyers (Janet Jackson, Kendrick Lamar) and Daniel Russell (Offset, Cardi B).

Hamilton's visuals opened with a flashback to "young Normani" at her grandmother’s home in New Orleans watching an episode of BET's popular countdown show 106 & Park which ran from 2000-2014. Present-day Normani then breaks out into multi-scene dance sequences.

The 23-year-old singer seemed to include allusions to 2000-era artists like Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Ciara, and Omarion. "Motivation" arrives after Normani’s collaborations “Love Lies” with Khalid, "Waves" with 6lack, and “Dancing with a Stranger” with Sam Smith.
