NYPD: Investigation Into Jam Master Jay's Murder Considered A Cold Case

Fifteen years later, the legendary Run-DMC deejay's murder is still unsolved.

(AllHipHop News) Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell of Run-DMC was murdered on October 30, 2002. Fifteen years later, no suspects have been arrested or convicted of the crime.

The Associated Press is reporting New York City detectives admit the case has officially gone cold. Police believe at least four people were in the Queens recording studio at the time JMJ was killed, but authorities were unable to get information from those individuals to produce effective leads.

As the deejay for Run-DMC, Jam Master Jay helped Hip Hop crossover into the mainstream in the 1980s. He was 37 years old at the time of his death.
