Pharrell Talks Producing Kendrick Lamar's "Alright" (VIDEO)

P: I KIND OF HAD MY TRIBE CALLED QUEST HAT ON THAT DAY

(AllHipHop News) Last week Kendrick Lamar began shooting the music video for the song "Alright" off his critically acclaimed 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly. Pharrell Williams was one of the producers that worked on that track, and the Virginia native spoke about his contribution to K. Dot's project while at Morocco's Mawazine Festival.

Montreality captured footage of Pharrell's overseas press conference. The Neptunes and N.E.R.D member said the following about producer "Alright":

One of my assistants really likes Trap music. I wanted to do something in that vein, but just a little bit more colorful, and add roads and instruments that are not usually used in that style of music. Just try to bring something a little bit more mystical. I kind of had my Tribe Called Quest hat on that day. I'm a huge Q-Tip fan.
