(AllHipHop News) According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is inspired by record producer Pharrell Williams’ childhood in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Atlantis is being described as a “Romeo and Juliet style story.”

Tony winner Michael Mayer (Flicka, Smash) is attached as a director with Martin Hynes (Toy Story 4, Curious George) on board as a writer.

Pharrell has been making moves into the movie/television realm over the last few years.

The 10-time Grammy winner and 2-time Oscar nominee appeared as a coach on the music competition TV show The Voice.

Pharrell is also listed as a producer for the films Dope, Hidden Figures, and Roxanne Roxanne.
