Police Say Pat Stay Murder Was Not Random

Officers are asking for help from the public for videos, photos and information regarding his death.

More information is has revealed surrounding the death of Canadian rapper, Pat Stay. Most surprising, according to recent police reports, the killing was not random.

Stay, a popular battle rapper who recently targeted West Coast chart-topper The Game in a diss track released days before his demise was murdered early morning on Sunday, Sept. 4 in Halifax, Novia Scotia while partying at the Yacht Club Social, Bar & Distillery.

Officers were called to the bar near Sackville St. and Lower Water around 12:30 a.m., according to CTV News, after someone reported a stabbing.

Stay, 36, was discovered by first responders and taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not shared if an arrest has been made, and say it is too early to determine the suspect’s motive. However, they do believe this was not a random act.

Cst. John Macleod from the Halifax Regional Police said, “At this point, we are in the early stages. We are looking at all avenues to determine what occurred that night.”

“We are asking anyone that might have information, or might have video, or photographs from the time of the incident to contact police to help us further this investigation,” MacLeod continued.

The Hip-Hop world has been in a whirlwind of shock since the murder, hosting tributes and posting memorials.
