(AllHipHop News) Jamell "YNW Melly" Demons is being accused of killing his friends Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. The 19-year-old "Murder on My Mind" rapper was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
More information allegedly associated with the Broward County case has been made public. According to TMZ, a booking report claims YNW Melly and Cortlen Henry drove the two victims to a local hospital on October 26, but police purportedly discovered forensic evidence that suggests their story about the incident was not true.
The entertainment news website reports:
Cops say they found a shell casing inside the vehicle, along with 8 matching shell casings in a different location, where cops think YNW and Henry shot up the car to make it look like a drive-by. Cops say the initial shot was fired from inside the vehicle -- not outside, as Henry claimed -- and originated from the left rear passenger side of the car, which is where they say they later discovered YNW had been sitting.
Authorities contend that after Williams and Thomas were shot in the head, torso, and back, the two defendants drove around with the dead bodies in their vehicle "for a period of time" before taking them to a medical facility. Henry is also facing first-degree murder charges as well as two counts of felony first-degree accessory after the fact.
Since news broke about YNW Melly's arrest, the streaming numbers for his music jumped significantly. "Murder on My Mind" rose 45 spots to #14 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The 2018 single currently sits at #1 on Apple Music's Top 100 daily chart and #7 on Spotify's Top 200 daily chart.
