Pop Group Lukas Graham Disses XXXTentacion After Controversy Over "Sad" Cover

The group has decided to pull their cover of one of XXX's biggest songs.

(AllHipHop News) Danish pop group Lukas Graham have removed their XXXtentacion cover from Spotify after learning of the late rapper's abusive past.

The band recorded the song Sad! at the streaming services Swedish headquarters in November - months after the hip-hop star was shot and killed during a robbery.

On Wednesday, the "Love Someone" hitmakers took to Instagram to announce they had taken down the track following criticism of their decision to promote a song from the star, who had been accused of domestic violence.

In the statement, frontman Lukas Forchhammer claimed he and his bandmates were unaware of the 20-year-old's past.

"Our cover of SAD will be taken down ASAP," Forchhammer said. "I had no knowledge of his violent history. I’m very sorry for the pain I’ve caused. Again, I’m very sorry."

XXXTentacion, who was born Jahseh Onfroy, was awaiting trial amid allegations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2016 when she was pregnant.

He was also charged with witness tampering and harassment after allegedly convincing the woman not to testify against him.
