Producer Salaam Remi Claims Sony Is Underpaying Him In Dispute Over Royalties

Salaam Remi wants his coins from Sony and he's going to court to get them.

(AllHipHop News) Music producer Salaam Remi is taking label chiefs at Sony Music to court over allegations of unpaid royalties.

The star, who has worked with rapper Nas and late singer Amy Winehouse, has filed suit in New York's Manhattan Supreme Court on behalf of his company Boomboxxx LLC, claiming he is owed at least $750,000.

He has accused Sony bosses of failing to honor the terms of a contract they signed in 2012 and is now requesting court officials intervene after failing to obtain their accounting records for a proper audit.

Remi believes he has been "substantially underpaid" and wants to have their books examined to determine exactly how much he is owed.

In legal papers obtained by the New York Post, his lawyer writes, "In short, without the information requested Plaintiff's auditors cannot ensure that Boomboxxx has been properly and fully accounted to."

Sony Music representatives have yet to comment on the allegations.
