Prosecutors Drop Assault Charge Against T.I. From May Arrest

The 'Dime Trap' album creator may still have to go to court.

(AllHipHop News) Clifford "T.I." Harris was facing a simple assault case, stemming from an encounter with a security guard outside his Henry County gated community. The Atlanta rapper was arrested in May, but prosecutors are dropping a simple assault charge.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Harris is still being charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. A jury trial is set to start on February 4.

"I guess y'all have been hearing all the nonsense,” said Tip back in May. “I'm looking like yesterday man. I was inconvenienced and arrested... With all we been through, this is small potatoes.”

His attorney added, "The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip’s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip."
