Pusha T: 'King Push' Will Be Album Of The Year In 2018

2017 is not even over yet, but the G.O.O.D. prez is ready to declare he'll dominate next year.

(AllHipHop News) With two months left to go this year, the conversation about the best rap album of 2017 is narrowing down to a few choices. However, Pusha T is confident enough to already declare he will be the king of 2018.

The Virginia-bred lyricist spoke to Billboard at ComplexCon this weekend. Push was asked about his upcoming third studio LP.

"I'm probably working on my last song. I'm probably waiting on my last couple of features. It's going to be album of the year in 2018," said the G.O.O.D. Music president. "Heavy raps, production by Kanye West from top to bottom. I've been in this for a long time, and one thing about me is it just has to be right."

Kanye was also tapped to serve as A&R for the tentatively titled King Push. The project follows the critically acclaimed My Name Is My Name and King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude studio albums.

"But since My Name is My Name, I feel like I don't know if I've grown as an artist as much as I've stuck to my guns, lyric-driven hip-hop. I just know the youth also keeps me sharp," Pusha T explained. "Going outside keeps me sharp because I love it, and I love where it's at right now. But at the same time, I do what I do, I can't do what they do. I think when we hear this album, everybody is going to see."
