(AllHipHop News) When the official cast of The Lion King remake was announced in November, Quavo reached out to Disney on Twitter. The Migos member (sarcastically?) suggested his rap group should be considered to play the three hyenas in the film.
Unfortunately for Huncho, Disney Studios tapped Eric Andre (Azizi), Florence Kasumba (Shenzi), and Keegan-Michael Key (Kamari) to voice Scar's carnivorous accomplices. That did not stop The Cruz Show from getting Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset to read lines as the original hyenas Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed on the radio.
Jon Favreau's (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) version of The Lion King is due out in 2019. The movie will star Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner as Timon.
Migos are dropping their Culture II album on January 26. Production for the set was provided by Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Murda Beatz, and more.
