(AllHipHop News) The Tim Story-directed Shaft will hit theaters on June 14. Samuel L. Jackson, Jessie T. Usher, and Richard Roundtree are playing three generations of the Shaft family. Regina Hall is also part of the cast.
Apparently, moviegoers can expect to hear rap music on the film's soundtrack. Migos member Quavo teased a new song connected to the Warner Bros. Pictures production.
"#SHAFT HUNCHO REMADE A CLASSIC 🙏🏾June 14th," wrote Quavo on Twitter. The tweet was accompanied by clips from Shaft which featured music by the Atlanta-raised rhymer. He also tagged his rapper girlfriend Saweetie in an Instagram post about the movie.
The Shaft film series began with Gordon Parks' 1971 classic blaxploitation crime drama. Soul legend Isaac Hayes created the Grammy-winning score for the original. The late filmmaker John Singleton was at the helm for the 2000 version starring Jackson. Black-Ish creator Kenya Barris co-wrote the 2019 motion picture.
